Custom Medicine has extensive experience in formulating
pharmaceutical preparations in a variety of forms that
can enhance the effectiveness of treatment for veterinary
patients. All medications can be compounded in the following
forms per a veterinarian’s prescription:
Chew treats, Penetrating Transdermals, Capsules, Suspensions,
Flavors: Chicken, Liver, Fish, Cheese, and Beef.
Please contact our pharmacist consultants for the right
dosage and form for your client and their animal.
When oral delivery is not optimal, transdermal PLOs
may be a better alterative. Transdermal PLOs offers
other advantages too. Since the penetrating agents of
the PLO push the drug deep into the tissues, smaller
amounts of drug can be given, often reducing side effects.
There are many different types of medications that can
be placed into a transdermal gel:
- Anti-diarrhea medications
- Anti-seizure medications
- Thyroid medications
- Topical Anesthetics
- Anti-arthritic drugs
- Gels for inflammation
- And many, many more!
